Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld says Avigdor Lieberman was questioned for five hours Monday in connection with a corruption investigation dating back more than 10 years. He said police questioned Lieberman over suspicions of accepting bribes and money laundering.

Lieberman became Israel's top diplomat last week. Upon taking office, he criticized peace talks with the Palestinians as ineffective and said he opposes making concessions to Arab adversaries.

His hard-line party, Yisrael Beteinu, came in third place in national elections earlier this year.
