Get Well Bono! A Favorite U2 Moment

I'm not dealing very well with all these rockers getting sick or leaving us. Having U2 cancel their North American tour got me thinking about one of my favorite memories about them.

The biggest U2 fan in my family is my older sister, Gabriela. For a while, she was my guide to all things awesome in the music world. Back in the day, my dad bought her the ZOO TV: Live From Sydney show (in Laser Disc! remember those?) feeding her fervor for Bono, who was of course, her favorite member.

I don't know how many times a day she watched this thing, but I remember clearly how she'd change when 'Love Is Blindness' would come up. At the 3:38 mark you'll see Bono summoning a beautiful fan up to the stage, he hugs her, caresses his face with her hand, sings in her ear and it's the sexiest thing ever (we'll forgive her for the mom jeans, it was the '90s!). The whole clip is delicious and it takes a true rock star to do this without making it look dirty.
