Representative Gary Ackerman of Queens seems to think so. When asked his opinion about the possibility that Caroline Kennedy could be named to replace Senator Clinton, the 25 year veteran of Congress declared, "I don't know what Caroline Kennedy's qualifications are, except that she has name recognition, but so does J. Lo." Ackerman continued, "I wouldn't make J. Lo the senator unless she proved she had great qualifications, but we haven't seen them yet."

Hmm, we beg to differ Rep. Ackerman. La Lopez has a long list of qualifications that seem to make her a shoe-in for the senate seat. We don't know that many women who can have twins, just a few short months later participate in a triathlon in LA, and plan and attend a surprise party for their husband in NYC the SAME NIGHT. That demonstrates some impressive multi-tasking skills. J. Lo is also, compared to most politicians these days, relatively scandal free. Appointing Lopez to a senate seat could even help smooth over tensions with some people who are angry over the lack of Latinos being appointed to cabinet positions in Obama's new administration!

In conclusion, we are in total support of Jennifer Lopez taking on a political appointment. J. LO FOR SENATE!
