Just when our attention towards
Adrienne Bailon was fading and the world was starting to right itself again, more juicy details hit our inbox. Fox News reports that the Cheetah Girl's so-called publicist, Jonathan Jaxson, admits that back when Adrienne's laptop was first stolen, the pair told a completely innocent, teeny tiny white lie to the press:
"Adrienne's tour with
Cheetah Girls will be over December 22nd, so she is then free to pursue other projects and wanted to be seen as more adult and sexy," Jaxson said. "So after the laptop was stolen we used it as an opportunity to drum up some publicity and start speculating about nude photos, but we never expected anything to get out."
And now that the photos have leaked (Whoops! How did that happen?), Jaxson adds fuel to the speculation that Adrienne leaked the photos herself. "Adrienne and her boyfriend swear they didn't leak them, but it wouldn't surprise me if Adrienne did." Though Jaxson no longer has a working relationship with the singer, somehow he knows that she is very distraught over the scandal: "Adrienne has been crying for two days straight, she's on her Cheetah Girls tour right now so she has to explain to her fans and is totally distraught. Her career is in real jeopardy."
If our eyes could roll any harder, we'd literally be spinning. Sure, maybe a serious, respectable career is unlikely now, but surely Adrienne has a future in the trashtastic, over hyped C-lister world. In fact, Page Six reports today that they've obtained a contract
Playboy sent to the singer, in which the lad mag offers $100,000 for "stylish photos with full nudity in a sufficient quantity and quality."
Just a little tip for all you readers - you can usually tell who's responsible for a gossip item by its not-so-subtle wording. In this case, we think the fact that the NY Post felt the need to call Adrienne the "star of The Cheetah Girls" makes it pretty clear who's doing the contract-leaking.
Sad, Adrienne. Not surprising, just sad. If this gets any lamer, we may have to call a news embargo on your--er--behind.
