Fergie Ordered to Gain Weight for Film Role

The normally super-toned singer was told to pack on the pounds for her part in Rob Marshall's Nine.

We're used to seeing Fergie pounding pavement with her iPod and running shoes, but these days it seems we're more likely to catch the fitness freak packing away the fish 'n chips.

The singer-turned-actress tells the British Press Association that she's been ordered to soften her hardbody for her role as a singing prostitute opposite Penelope Cruz in Rob Marshall's big screen musical, Nine. "I was actually told to gain weight for the film so I've been eating everything—anything and everything," Fergs discloses.

But her new high-calorie diet doesn't exactly include McDonald's and Taco Bell. Since she's filming in the British capital, Fergie has decided to get her fill of the best—and greasiest—UK food. "I actually love [British food]," she says.

Ever the professional, Fergie even has a strategy for making sure her bangers-and-mash belly is carefully concealed from the prying paparazzi. "I am covering up except for my legs because they never gain weight and that's the only part that never changes but everything else is covered."

Looks like Fergie isn't going to let the inevitable "pregnancy" rumors that come along when svelte actresses gain weight get any traction. Pretty smart, Fergs, but why you gotta spoil our fun?
