America Ferrera Doesn't Approve of 'Gossip Girl'

Though most of us look at it as a guilty pleasure, America Ferrera believes there's nothing positive about teen soap dramas like Gossip Girl.

"Like, if you're watching The Hills or 90210, all the backstabbing shapes the way we act," the star muses in the October issue of Seventeen. "I mean, I love Blake [Lively]; she's a wonderful friend of mine, but shows like Gossip Girl kind of condition us to be mean."

Despite her distaste for the hit show, America insists that her friendship with Blake and her other Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars, Amber Tamblyn and Alexis Bledel, is unaffected and drama-free. "One of the most wonderful experiences I've had with girl relationships was working with them [Lively, Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn] on Sisterhood. I'd worked with other girls before and it was pretty catty," said America, who counts Amber as "one of my closest friends."

If America wants to avoid cat fights between girls, she should be the first to retract her claws. Her blatant disdain for her frenemy Blake and Gossip Girl is pretty disrespectful, if you ask us. Be a sport, America. We love the positive messages we get from Ugly Betty, but once in a while we want to see a good b*tch fest, too.
