Stars Celebrate Latinos In The Media

Hollywood’s biggest Latin stars recently gathered in Beverly Hills, California for a special event celebrating diversity in the media.

“Hispanics & Television: A Celebration of Leadership,” was held just days before the 2008 ALMA Awards, at the posh Beverly Hills Hotel.

Amongst the celebrities present were ALMA co-producer and “Desperate Housewives” star, Eva Longoria Parker.

ABC News anchor John Quiñones moderated the event, which celebrated the careers of award-winning actress Rita Moreno and CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler. Both women were presented with awards for their groundbreaking work, which has opened the doors for many Hispanics and minorities in the entertainment industry.

Other guests present were Janet Murguia, CEO and President of the National Council of La Raza, and Kate Linder, actress from highest-rated daytime soap opera, “The Young and the Restless.”
