For the first time in 50 years, Raul Castro's government will allow citizens to travel abroad.

The announcement was made on Monday, by Fidel Castro's younger brother, Raúl, more details are still pending on the new travel policy.

At the moment there is a travel ban to residents of the island, in for them to travel they must go through a long process of paperwork, including an invitation from their destination abroad, and pay $150 for an exit request that could be denied, they must also limit their travel to 30 days, costing about $400.

Its almost impossible when the average monthly wage in Cuba is $20.

Now with new government being lead by Raul Castro, positive changes are in favor of its fellow Cubans.

Soon businesses will be able to sell directly to consumers without government interference and allow residents to buy, sell homes and automobiles as they like.
