Former employer of Devereux Foundation in Florida is suing for gender discrimination.
The story sounds familiar to the trend woman who are filing against their employers, remember Debrahlee Lorenzana who sued her employer, JPMorgan Chase.
According to the New York Daily News:
Lorenzana claimed that Chase has threatened to fire her for violating the company's code of conduct.
Well now Amy-Erin Blakely plans to sue after filing two complaints about comments that were made about her breast size. She claims that she was told that "they were distracting and too sensual."
Amy Erin Blakely s her "full figure" had not only led to continuous inappropriate remarks, but also kept her from promotions. So of course she hires high-powered attorney Gloria Allred to stand by her side to defend her to sue the nonprofit provider of children mental health services. "It made me feel ashamed." She noted that she always dressed professionally.
According to reports, Robert Kreider, President and CEO of Devereux Florida, responded with this statement:
"(The allegations) are purposefully inflammatory, and either spurious or twisted in content and context. In no way do these allegations represent the truth about our organization or our staff, but here is what does. We have a deep and abiding respect for women in our organization, as evidenced by the fact that more than 50 percent of our senior leadership team is female."
Although women have toughen up through out the years to feel confident to speak out against street harassment, it can become more of a challenge to fight workplace harassment.
