That same day, they also filed legal papers in Pennsylvania. "Things change for the better, [but I] haven't gotten there yet," a teary-eyed Jon said in front of the camera.

"I'm excited and hurt at the same time. I'm only 32 years old. I really don't know what's going to happen." And although Jon and Kate may no longer be together, the show must go on - literally.

Viewers won't have to say goodbye to their favorite TLC family, as they will still be filming, but not at the same time. "I don't want to do this alone, but it's required and I've got to do it," Kate said, before adding, "We're here for our kids. We can't go back now, we can only go forward. And I know we'll all come out of this on the other side, stronger, wiser.

We'll pool together in a strange sort of way and realize that together, we can do this."
