Zoe Yadira Saldana was born one June 19th, 1978 in Passaic, New Jersey to a Puerto Rican mother and Dominican father.
Her big break came in the year 2000, when she landed a role on the dance film, Center Stage. She later participated in hit features such as Pirates of The Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) starring Johnny Depp, The Terminal (2004) with Tom Hanks, and Guess Who (2005) alongside Ashton Kutcher. Her career jumped to new heights with her groundbreaking role as Neytiri in the mega hit Avatar (2009).
